Raising Him to Duke

A queen married a commoner, raised him to duke, and prepared to give him her throne. She caught him with her maid—and he demanded she abdicate. She awoke. She annulled their marriage in front of all nobles—a clause in his charter made him penniless overnight. He burned grain and tried to kill her. He was executed. She became a true sovereign.
